This visa category grants the applicant necessary approval to conduct business, or obtain employment for a period of one year from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka. It also allows for multiple entry during the validity period of the visa, while it is mandatory for the visa holder to exit the country at least once every 120 days (4 months).
This visa is renewable on expiry, subject to approval from the ‘Sri Lanka Department of Immigration & Emigration’.
1/ The applicant’s original passport with a validity period of not less than one year.
2/ A copy of the passport page which carries the holder’s information.
3/ Two passport size photographs.
4/ (a) A request letter printed on the company’s official letterhead and addressed to: The Visa Officer, The Immigration & Emigration Department of Sri Lanka, "Suhurupaya", Sri Subhuthipura Road, Battaramulla. It is necessary for this request letter to be signed by the local director of the company providing the sponsorship and should also contain the name, designation, National Identity Card number and contact details of the signatory. An alternate director may sign this document, only in the absence of a local director. The company seal should be affixed to this document, where applicable.
(b) A copy of the signatory’s national identity card or passport should be attached to the request letter for the purpose of identity verification.
5/ Copies of the company’s Form 1, the Articles of Association and the Certificate of Incorporation, all of which, are to be duly certified by the company secretaries as ‘true copy’.
6/ Documents which would generally lend support towards the primary application for a Multiple Entry Business Visa, such as: the company profile, tax certificates, proof of fund transfer, employment contract issued by the employer, approval certificates or trade licenses issued by the vested government authority to conduct business in this country, proof of assets, audited financial statements, import documents, tax certificates, lease/purchase agreements.
Please ensure that all the documents are of genuine nature, as the submission of false documents for the purpose of obtaining a visa is a punishable offence in Sri Lanka.
Multiple Entry Business visa will be granted only for a maximum period of one year, based on the applicant’s date of arrival in Sri Lanka, and NOT from the date on which the application was submitted for processing.
